Air Conditioning Tips for Spring

Why start thinking about your air conditioner before the weather gets warm?
There’s lots of reason, but most importantly so your equipment is
ready to roll the second you need it. We know you probably have lots on
your spring “to-do” list, but getting your home’s cooling
equipment ready should definitely find its way onto your notepad. Here’s
what you can do:

  1. Did you remember to clean or replace the filter before you shut the system
down at the end of the last cooling season? Take the time to do so now.
Have a clean filter is paramount when it comes to keeping the air clean
    inside your home.

  2. Clean off the outdoor unit. You can get rid of dirt and debris by spraying
the condenser unit with a hose.

  3. Trim back any bushes or shrubs that have grown to within 3 feet of the
outdoor unit. Cooling systems operate more efficiently when there is at
least 3 feet of space on all sides.

  4. Take a look at the ductwork inside your home. If you notice any holes or
air leaks be sure to call in an expert right away.

  5. Check the insulation up in the attic. You may want to add a fresh layer
to prevent cool air from escaping.

It’s also wise to have a professional air conditioning company come
in to perform a
full system tune-up. That’s where we come in! We’ll be able to get your system
up and running at full capacity before the warm weather settles in for
good. Give
