How to Clean the Nooks and Crannies

Wiping up dust off the counter is a breeze. Drying up a spill on the kitchen table: simple. But getting in between those old radiator coils that are found in lots of Twin Cities homes – not always a walk in the park. See below to find out some simple ways to clean hard-to-reach spots throughout your home.

Dusting Between The Coils

If you live in an older Twin Cities home, it wouldn’t be uncommon for you to have an traditional-style radiator. Unfortunately, the design makes it difficult to access the space between the coils which is where dust and debris tends to build up. Instead of watching it pile up any longer, you can wrap a dustcloth around a yardstick to wipe it away.

The Dreaded Space Behind The Toilet
Let’s face it – nobody wants to get down on their hands and knees to scrub the space behind the toilet. But just imagine all of the germs and bacteria building up back there. You can keep your distance but still make it clean by using a toilet brush to scrub the area (just don’t use the same one you use inside the bowl).

Roll The Fridge Out
The coils behind your refrigerator must be kept clean in order for the appliance to operate efficiently. If you can’t remember the last time you pulled it out and vacuumed behind there, now is a great time! Put a piece of cardboard on the floor to protect it before you wiggle it out.
