Yep, it’s cold out and some of us may even be seeing some snow in the forecast. But that’s not keeping Neighborhood Roots from holding their Winter Farmers Market! In fact, they’re encouraging you to come in from the cold to check out their beautiful fruits and veggies that are available this time of year.
Take a break from shoveling, get out of the cold and head on into the Neighborhood Roots Winter Farmers Market. The market will be open this Saturday, January 23rd, from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm at Bachman’s Garden Center (6010 Lyndale Ave. S.) where vendors from the Fulton, Kingfield and Nokomis farmers markets will have fresh fruits and veggies on display.
Hearty root vegetables, cole crops and apples have been stored through the winter months and mild temperatures have allowed farmers to continue to grow greens in hoop houses. Delicious meats and cheeses will also be available from several farms so be sure to grab what you need to stock up your freezers.
Some additional highlights will include maple syrup, honey, salmon, kimchi, hot sauces and much more! Come hungry and enjoy breakfast or lunch from one of three tasty food trucks and enjoy music all day long.
Say goodbye to those winter blues and if you can’t make it this weekend, be sure to clear your calendars for the final two Winter Markets on February 27th and March 26th.
