Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Plumber in the Twin Cities

If you’ve ever had a poor plumbing experience you are certainly not alone. There’s nothing worse than hiring an unqualified technician to “fix” your plumbing problem and then regret your decision because the problem wasn’t solved.

Stop shelling out money to low-quality, inexperienced plumbers by making sure to ask the right questions before your next hire.

  1. License and insurance, please! – Most states require plumbers to be licensed and they definitely should be insured. Insurance will protect both you and the plumber in case of an injury or accident.

  2. Be wary of the lowest price – when a plumber comes to assess the problem, he or she will know what they need to do and should be able to give you an accurate estimate. Unless there are any major problems that come about during the job, the price should remain the same. Make sure to get at least 3 estimates and be very careful when considering the lowest price, it could mean the plumber is cutting corners.

  3. Do you guarantee your work? All plumbers should guarantee their work and all the necessary parts. Warranties often cover the work for up to one year and if the plumber refuses to give you a guarantee, don’t bother to hire them.
